What to expect from us after you choose and place a deposit for your puppy,

1. You can expect updated pictures of your puppy on our website and/or sent via text/email at 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 6 weeks.  Please try to be patient and not check-in and ask when these will be sent.  You have our promise that they will get updated but pictures are the last thing on the list for the day.  Their well-being is far more important.  So it might not be exactly two (give or take a few days) weeks for every update.

2. On pickup day a blanket that has moms scent, toys, food, treats, and all paperwork necessary for your vet appointment will be with your puppy.

3. Paperwork will include the following documents,

  • Vet health certificate

  • Vaccine and deworming record

  • AKC registration

4. Your puppy will go for a vet check-up around 7-8 weeks of age. If there are any health concerns, you will be contacted.

5. Final payment for your puppy is due at time of pick up, this payment can be paid in cash or with venmo/paypal w/ NO FEES

6. Puppies must be picked up between 8-9 weeks of age. If you cannot pick up within that time frame, the puppy must be paid in full by 9 weeks of age and an additional boarding fee of $25 per day will be charged and due at time of pick up.

7. You are required to take your puppy for a vet check within 10 days of receiving him/her. If there are any health concerns we are to be notified by your vet immediately. PLEASE make this appointment as soon as you know your pick-up day.  Vets are booked very far in advance.

8. We recommend feeding 2 times a day 2/3 cup or more, just after they seem content.  Then take away food.  Always offering water.  Eating three times a day is what they are used to and makes potty training much easier than letting them graze all day.  They will poop a few minutes after eating their kibble. PLEASE plan on buying one 34 pound bag of the puppy food they are currently on.  Then feel free to transition them off if you would like.

Don’t panic if they don’t gobble a bunch of food up as soon as you get them. Sometimes in a new environment, it may take them some time to adjust and will slowly begin to get their appetite back. Especially after a long car ride.

9. We recommend supervised play or they are contained while in potty training period. Do not let them roam freely unless they are supervised. Set boundaries the first week. This also makes potty training much easier.

10.  Reward, reward, reward when they go potty outside. You can teach them to ring a bell at the door to alert you; time to go potty outside. Watch for  their cues.

11.  Remember they are likely to cry the first night away from home and maybe even the first week.  They adjust quickly to their new family and environment. They are very smart,  so if they cry in a crate or pen at night and you run to the rescue….they figure that out pretty fast!

12.  Do the best you can to socialize them as much as POSSIBLE with other people and dogs! You can take them with you from day one. Let strangers approach and pet!   Please do not set them down on public ground, only private areas like your backyard. Once they are fully vaccinated, you can feel free to walk them in public but for now being carried or riding in a cart is best.
